Thank you to everyone who generously provided referrals to us this past quarter, as we presented a check for $1,170 to The SKY Family YMCA! The SKY Family YMCA Venice branch was founded in 1967 and is located on Center Road. Programs the Y offer are seemingly endless and range from youth enrichment to group exercise, with so much in between. For many years, the Y has placed a large focus on fitness and living our lives to their fullest potential. What many do not know is the amazing things the Y does for children and youth in our community. In the early stages of the pandemic, the Y provided 1,046 meals daily to children and also provided care and services for 415 children of first responders and essential employees in our community.
The YMCA offers early learning education and before and after school child care. In addition, the Y provides a free childcare service to all members called the Kid Zone for ages 6 weeks to 13 years old. This allows parents to focus on their health knowing their children are in the care of trained and screened staff members. Another really neat program is Youth In Government (YIG) for middle and high school students. It’s an opportunity for students to build essential life skills and see how our state government operates. Joyner Family Insurance is proud to support such an outstanding organization!
