Joyner Family Insurance Named National Finalist for U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Best Civic Engagement Program
Venice, Fla. — Joyner Family Insurance (JFI), a locally owned independent insurance agency serving Florida since 2009, has been named a national finalist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s 2026 Citizens Awards in the Best Civic Engagement Program category.
JFI is one of only four organizations nationwide selected as a finalist in the category, recognized for its “Help Our Community” Referral Program and its commitment to turning business relationships into meaningful community impact. As part of this program, nonprofit organizations are nominated, the local community is invited to vote for the organization it would like JFI to support, and referral activity generates the donation presented to the selected charity for that quarter.
But the impact does not end with the donation, as check presentations to each organization are filmed, shared across social media platforms, and featured within local publications. By using its own audience and resources to spotlight each nonprofit, JFI helps introduce the organization, its mission, and its needs to an even larger segment of the community.
“To have a program that started with a simple idea—thank our clients for their referrals while giving back to our community—receive national recognition is incredibly meaningful. This honor belongs just as much to our clients, team members, nonprofit partners, and everyone who takes the time to vote and participate. Venice has supported our family and our agency since we opened our doors, and we have always believed it is our responsibility to return that support. The greatest reward is seeing these organizations receive not only a donation, but greater awareness for the incredible work they are doing every day.” — David Joyner, Founder & CEO, Joyner Family Insurance.
The program reflects a larger philosophy at JFI: business success and community success can—and should—grow together. In addition to its referral program, JFI supports numerous local nonprofits, schools, youth programs, charitable events, and community organizations through sponsorships, partnerships, volunteerism, and team-member involvement.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation selected 37 organizations across nine categories for the 2026 Citizens Awards. The awards recognize businesses and chambers of commerce using their talent, resources, and expertise to strengthen communities and address important challenges.
For a Venice-based business to receive national recognition for civic engagement makes the honor especially meaningful to the JFI team. The clients, nonprofits, community partners, team members, and neighbors who participate in the program are all part of the impact it has created.
Winners of the 2026 Citizens Awards will be announced during the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Business Solves Conference, October 27–28, 2026, in Washington, D.C.
