Once again, our “Help Our Community” Referral Program provided a wonderful donation to last quarter’s designated charity, the Literacy Volunteers of South Sarasota County (LVSSC)! LVSSC sponsors two programs to help adults improve their literacy: Adult Basic Literacy (reading and writing) and English as a Second Language. The organization provides such services in the Venice Library, North Port Library, and North Port Family Services Center. Last year, LVSSC had 169 trained volunteer tutors and instructors who taught 343 adult students.
